
Background
The Globe Program (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) is a worldwide hands-on, primary and secondary school-based science and education program. GLOBE's vision promotes and supports students', teachers and scientists' collaboration on inquiry-based investigations of the environment.
GLOBE is an interagency program funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), supported by the U.S. Department of State. Internationally, GLOBE is a partnership between the United States and over 100 countries who manage and support their unique national and regional program infrastructure and activities.
GLOBE in Tennessee
SRWA and other watershed associations are encouraging and facilitating GLOBE training for teachers with a goal of strengthening students' connection to the environment by engaging them with issues of local water quality - impairment and improvement.
