Saturday, Sept. 13, Percy Priest Clean Up, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Nashville Clean Water Project is sponsoring "the largest water cleanup in Nashville History." You may have seen news articles recently about the tons of garbage that have piled up on the islands of Percy Priest. This event will rally hundreds of volunteers to attack the problem. Transportation, bags, etc. are provided. Complete Information.

Friday-Sunday, Sept. 19-21, Watershed Summit on Short Mountain and Tennessee Blueways Summit.

This year's event brings together watershed activists from around the mid-state for 3 days of programming in a family retreat environment. Visit the Summit website to register, see a detailed schedule and get Complete Information.

Saturday, Sept. 27, Fun Float from Percy Priest Dam to the Cumberland.

This is an easy 6-7 mile float with plenty of water. We'll put in near the dam and take out at Heartland Park just before the confluence of the Stones and Cumberland. BYOB -- bring your own boat, plus water and a lunch. We'll work out some carpooling opportunities for those coming from Rutherford County. For more information or to register contact Diane Persbacher
